A Lesbian’s Guide to Dating Someone New During the Holidays
January 6th, 2009The first thing you must understand is that time is limited during the holidays for everyone. You must acknowledge that most women have less time to date during the holidays than at other times of the year, and so finding someone may take more time. This is especially true if you have young children, elderly parents, or are traveling to see family over the holidays. It is possible to connect with a special woman during the holidays, but you should understand that you will be spending less time with her. But starting that spark may be the first step, and come January, you will have much more time to spend together.
You will need to take a relaxed approach to the holiday season when it comes to dating. If you are dating someone new, you may question if you should spend Christmas, Hanukah or Kwanza with them. On the one hand, it would be nice to share these important days with someone special along with your family and loved ones. Then again, if you are dating someone new, it can be added stress to your holiday celebration. Consider inviting your new friend over for dinner on Christmas Eve and leaving Christmas as a family day. Alternatively, make special plans to see them the weekend following the holidays.
